**BROTHERHOOD* YUNG JOC PRESENTS: MEN’S APPRECIATION NYC EDITION
New York City, prepare for an extraordinary event as Hip-Hop artist Yung Joc and celebrity branding manager Sherie P host “ The Awakening of the Underdogs. ” This is a historic occasion, as It marks the inaugural New York City installment of this esteemed invitation-only event. Held this month at the prestigious Belair headquarters, the gathering will celebrate the achievements of five remarkable men: Lil Cease, Maino, Ray Daniels, Fabolous, and Jadakiss.
Each of these esteemed individuals has made a profound impact on the music industry and are continuing to changing the narrative of what a hip-hop artist is. These Individuals are creating businesses in their communities, and venturing out in other. entrepreneurial industries that are employing their people and uplifting their culture.
What sets this night apart is its exclusive focus on men. This is not merely a gathering; it is a sanctuary designed to foster relaxation and rejuvenation for men. Only!
“We wanted to provide men in the entertainment and business space with an opportunity to just relax” - Sherie P
And when they say relax, they mean it! The spa treatment, curated by Lux Elite Wellness of Spa Boss Tribe by Candace Holyfield, is a testament to this commitment. Designed to promote relaxation and mental clarity, the treatment complements premium libations from Luc Belaire and an artfully curated selection of light bites. The ambiance will be serene, creating an environment conducive to reflection and connection among honorees and attendees.
Beyond physical self-care, the event will prioritize mental and spiritual well-being. Professional Black male speakers will engage with the attendees , providing guidance and resources as needed.
One of the many things I love out of all the things mentioned is the focus is not just on physical self-care, but mental and spiritual self-care. There will be professional Black male therapists speaking with the men and providing their contact information if needed.
When was the last time you genuinely inquired about the well-being of a Black man and meant it? During our conversation with Sherie, she emphasized the diverse roles many of the honorees play. They are not merely Hip-Hop stars and actors; many are actively involved in local business ventures. For instance, Jadakiss owns “Kiss Cafe,” a premium coffee establish ment that operates alongside his father and son. This establishment celebrates family, legacy, and generational wealth, which is often overlooked in the Black community.
Another notable artist and radio personality, Maino, created “THE CHECK IN: Hip-Hop’s first health and wellness platform. ” The platform’s objectives include identifying health complications and preventing heart disease, particularly in communities of color.
One creative and unique idea shared by Sherie and Craig was the concept of a barbershop. Culturally known as a place to put your feet up get your hair done, and talk smack. This will just be an elevated barbershop with a different conversation in mind.
It's important to highlight a space for Black men, when women's history month. happens, there will be hundreds. of events happening daily, you often. don't. hear too many solely for men.
